About The Position

As a Claims Representative I Subrogation, your work will have a big impact on the investigation, negotiation and settlement of property and/or automotive physical damage subrogation claims. You will provide quality service and ensure prompt and equitable recovery of claims in line with Corporate policies and standards.

Requirements

  • University degree, college diploma, or equivalent business experience.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience handling property, casualty, and/or subrogation claims.
  • Strong investigative, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and claims management systems.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on customer experience and operational excellence.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada from the anticipated start date and throughout their employment.

Nice To Haves

  • CIP designation (or working toward completion) is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate property loss files with moderate complexity to support prompt and equitable recoveries in line with corporate policies and standards.
  • Conduct investigations by determining necessary contacts, collecting feasibility and/or civil action information, and protecting recovery opportunities.
  • Analyze and document claim files by gathering and reviewing repair reports, statements from third party adjusters, claimants, witnesses, and other pertinent parties.
  • Negotiate and settle claims with authority limits while collaborating with third parties, lawyers, insurers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare recommendations for further action and refer files to appropriate teams when required.
  • Provide quality customer service by responding to inquiries related to investigations and the claims process.
  • Maintain effective communication and relationships with claims departments, legal partners, experts, and external vendors.
  • Ensure claims are handled in accordance with service standards, policies, and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Support additional duties and projects as assigned.
