As the Claims Representative I, Property, you will investigate, negotiate and settle service claims for the organization. You will contribute to the organization’s client service culture through professional interactions with clients and implementing innovative and client centric solutions.

Requirements

  • One year of experience in insurance or two years of business experience in a related field.
  • Completed post-secondary education in insurance, risk management or a related discipline.
  • Have or are working towards the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation and Provincial Adjuster Licenses.
  • In-depth knowledge of client service principles.
  • Basic knowledge of insurance and insurance claims, policy wordings, the vehicle repair process, provincial legislations and regulations.
  • English is required.

  • French is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Interpreting and applying coverages, participating in major event response and negotiating and settling service claims with a focus on behaviour based outcomes.
  • Communicating with clients, delivering clear messages and resolving concerns and liaising with stakeholders to ensure the efficient, timely, and quality settlement of claims.
  • Investigating and identifying opportunities for salvage and subrogation recoveries through the use of appropriate guidelines.
  • Sharing claims handling knowledge with business partners to support the organization and providing feedback to the leadership team on process efficiencies to enhance client experience.
  • Providing exceptional client service in accordance with our claims service and quality standards, with the view of enabling the organization to be the industry leader in client engagement.
