Claims Representative, Auto
About The Position
As a Claims Representative, you will play a critical role in helping policyholders recover from unexpected losses. You will investigate and resolve minor physical damage claims, provide exceptional customer service, and make timely coverage and liability decisions. This role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills to ensure a positive claims experience while delivering fair and accurate outcomes. This position is based in our Presque Isle, Maine office and will follow a hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 days at home) outside of training.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1-3 years of insurance, customer service, sales or other related professional experience.
- Experience investigating, evaluating, or resolving customer issues and making informed decisions based on available information.
- Experience managing a workload independently while maintaining quality and service standards.
- Experience communicating effectively with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency with technology and business software applications.
Responsibilities
- Investigate and evaluate claims by reviewing policy coverage, gathering facts, and determining liability and damages.
- Communicate with policyholders, claimants, repair facilities, and other involved parties to provide timely updates and guidance throughout the claims process.
- Manage a caseload of claims from initial report through resolution while meeting quality, service, and regulatory standards.
- Analyze claim documentation, estimates, and supporting information to make informed settlement decisions.
- Negotiate and settle claims within established authority levels while ensuring fair and equitable outcomes.
- Identify potential fraud indicators, coverage concerns, or legal issues and escalate as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate claim documentation and records in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support efficient claim resolution and a positive customer experience.
