About The Position

Cirrus AMI is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Claims Manager to oversee all insurance claims processes across our portfolio of residential and commercial properties, as well as our corporate operations. In this critical role, you will manage property damage, personal injury, applicant and tenant-related claims (whether legal or administrative sources), as well as Cirrus corporate claims from initial report through resolution. You will work closely with property managers, insurance carriers, adjusters, contractors, and in-house and external counsel to minimize losses, ensure timely claim resolutions, and support our commitment to exceptional operations and property management. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with experience and strong knowledge of property insurance, claims processing, excellent negotiation skills, and highly organized.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of progressive experience in insurance claims handling, with at least 1 year specifically in property management claims - Required
  • Either Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Finance and/or Equivalent experience and professional certification such as Certified or Advanced Claims Professional, or Associate in Claims Management - Required
  • Deep understanding of property insurance policies and claims processing - Required
  • Reliable transportation for occasional site visit - Required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (especially Excel for claims tracking) - Required
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple claims simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with QuickBase, Origami Risk, or other claims management software - Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain database of all property and corporate insurance policies, terms, contacts and limits.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of insurance claims such as property damage, liability, personal injury, water, fire, theft, etc.
  • Document initial incident reports and coordinate timely communication to Operations for mitigation.
  • Handle escalated claims issues and provide or seek guidance for Operations as needed.
  • Coordinate with property owners, carriers and adjusters to ensure accurate and timely process, inspections and settlements.
  • Confer with Operations to negotiate, pass-through tenant damages to Renter’s Insurance, or seek other subrogation opportunities.
  • Maintain detailed claim records in our internal software, prepare regular status reports on claims.
  • Analyze claim trends; provide recommendations to Operations for proactive risk management.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all property and corporate insurance policies, certificates of insurance, endorsements, and related documents with our internal software systems
  • Assist with insurance renewals by providing loss history and supporting underwriting data requests.
