About The Position
Support Class Members in person with information, resources and Claim Form support in a way that feels trauma-informed and culturally safe. Develop relationships with local and surrounding communities, organizations, and community members. Assist claimants in completing claim forms, connecting them with existing mental health, legal, and cultural support services. Participate in training sessions, including e-courses, de-briefings, and self-directed learning classes. Carry out work in a safe manner, following established health and safety protocols, training and instructions. Contribute to a positive safety culture by raising safety concerns and sharing knowledge about risks and solutions.
Requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with Indigenous Peoples and communities (three years or more), developed through community, professional roles, or lived experience
- Strong knowledge and awareness of Indigenous culture, history, the impacts of (intergenerational) trauma and understanding of the governance structure of Indigenous communities.
- Clear, respectful and professional communication skills in both written and verbal formats.
- Demonstrated ability to lead administrative work while respecting privacy and confidentiality.
- Strong ability to follow established policies, procedures and operational guidelines.
- Ability to travel across Canada (up to 60 % of the role, including route planning, equipment packing, planning community visits and in-person session delivery)
- Valid driver’s licence, access to a reliable vehicle at the time of hiring and proof of vehicle insurance.
- Access to a quiet, private workspace with reliable internet.
- Willingness to learn, try new approaches, and adapt as work evolves.

- Demonstrate a shared responsibility for health and safety by complying with applicable legislation and organizational policies, engaging in open communication, participating in safety initiatives, and actively supporting the ongoing prevention of risk and injury.
- Successful candidates will be required to complete both a Criminal Record Check (CRC) and a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) as a condition of employment.
