About The Position

We are seeking a full time Claims Advocate. The successful candidate will be part of the Western Region Claims Team, providing Gallagher clients with exemplary claims service and advocacy, maintaining and exceeding the service standards of the Gallagher Claims Department. Your positive outlook and professionalism are prerequisites to work with our dynamic team.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years insurance and/or Claims experience required
  • Alberta, Manitoba and BC broker licenses or ability to obtain within 3 months
  • Comprehensive and effective verbal/written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multi-task between a variety of tasks, projects, and deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products

Nice To Haves

  • CAIB, CIP designations an asset or courses completed towards designations
  • Client service and/or advocacy experience an asset
  • Completion of post-secondary education an asset
  • Experience with EPIC an asset

Responsibilities

  • Intake of Commercial and Personal Lines client’s new claims and reporting to the insurance company
  • Provide Claims assistance as required to the insureds in a professional and compassionate manner
  • Communication with adjusters and insureds with respect to open claims
  • Liaison between insured and insurance carrier during settlement negotiations when required
  • Advocacy on claims on client’s behalf with insurers as necessary
  • Data input using EPIC and DMS system
  • Maintain, organize and update client files, including Word summaries and Excel spreadsheets
  • Attend company sponsored seminars and educational activities needed to maintain product knowledge and expertise, and participate in projects at management’s request
