About The Position

The City of Chandler Police Department is seeking qualified individuals to join their team as a Civilian Range Instructor. This role involves providing firearms instruction, safety training, and related instruction to police officers and detention officers. The position also includes maintaining and repairing department weapons, the armory, and other equipment. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with benefits, operating on a 4/10 schedule, Monday through Thursday from 0700 to 1700.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalency supplemented by specialized training in firearms use and safety.
• At least three (3) years’ experience providing basic and advanced firearms training in a law enforcement environment within the past five (5) years.
• AZ POST Approved Firearms Instructor Certification.
• AZ POST Approved Rifle Instructor Certification.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Nice To Haves

• Previous law enforcement SWAT experience.
• Previous Glock and AR-15 armorer experience.
