About The Position

Envista Forensics is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer or Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to join their forensic team in the greater St. Louis area. This role offers a unique opportunity to escape the computer screen and engage in field investigations approximately 40% of the time, supporting excellent project results and client experience. Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related discipline is required.
• 25 - 30%+ travel
• Ability to work in inclement weather and various environmental conditions
• Ability to work in high areas such as roofs or scaffolding, requiring physical agility, balance, and resistance to acrophobia.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing along strict timelines.

Nice To Haves

• PE is preferred - EIT may be considered
• 5-7 years’ experience in design in combination of residential, commercial, and industrial setting preferred
• Experience working in the field is a benefit.

Responsibilities

• Investigate the origin and cause of failures, damages, or defects in the civil/structural fields within residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
• Analyze the failure of building systems, determine the cause of failures, evaluate the quality of construction, or review design or maintenance procedures.
• Perform field investigations, lead multi-party examinations, and document damaged property.
• Research failure modes and code requirements as needed, and prepare recommendations for repair and/or remediation as appropriate.
• Prepare reports and letters outlining the origin and cause of damages to clients.
• Manage/work with multi-disciplinary teams on large and complex assignments.
