About The Position

Exponent is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineering Manager for its Civil & Structural Engineering Practice in Irvine, CA. This role involves leading analytical and problem-solving tasks, conducting experimental field investigations and diagnostic surveys, and developing and maintaining client relations. The position requires the ability to communicate technical conclusions to diverse audiences including engineers, business professionals, and industry representatives. The role is focused on addressing complex engineering challenges and contributing to a safer, healthier, and more sustainable world.

Requirements

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field
  • Ability to obtain Licensure as a Professional Engineer in the State of California.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in technical engineering and project management post-graduation
  • Experience drafting/reviewing analysis, reports, and presentations
  • Effective leadership skills with the ability to positively interact with professionals, technical staff, and administrative staff
  • Outstanding professional reputation and a record of publications
  • Strong client base in similar market areas
  • A dedication to quality and accuracy

Responsibilities

  • Inspection, analysis, and determination of root causes of materials/structural/building envelope performance failures
  • Conducting projects and supervising others analytical and problem solving tasks

  • Continued professional development towards maintaining professional expertise
  • Providing expert testimony where appropriate
