About The Position

A civil engineering firm in the Charleston, West Virginia area is recruiting an experienced Civil Project Manager / Water Resources Engineer. This is a Full-Time Permanent Position with Benefits.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
Minimum of 5+ years of relevant civil/water resources engineering experience.
Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred (or active eligibility to obtain PE licensure).
Strong background managing project deliverables, guiding junior team members, and delivering clear written/verbal presentations.
Willingness for periodic travel to local project sites and client meetings.
Candidates are required to pass a Criminal Background Check and a 10 Panel Drug Screen.

Water Resources Engineer experience

Responsibilities

Evaluate existing service area utility assets and develop strategic recommendations for repair, rehabilitation, or replacement.
Support detailed design for water line and sanitary sewer line rehabilitation/replacement, incorporating pump selection, valve sizing, and mechanical equipment layouts.
Coordinate environmental impact studies, regulatory permitting, alternative analyses, and specialized technical deliverables.
Support hands-on troubleshooting and performance evaluations of mechanical and fluid systems during active construction and final commissioning.
Monitor construction performance and strict adherence to engineering plans and specifications.
Efficiently process submittments, Requests for Information (RFIs), formal project correspondence, and change orders.
Ensure clear, proactive project communication between internal team members, sub-consultants, and clients.
Deliver compelling formal presentations to clients, community stakeholders, the general public, and regulatory agencies.
Identify future project opportunities, attend networking events and industry conferences, and cultivate strong client relationships through high-quality project delivery.
