About The Position

The Civil Project Manager is responsible for the safe, profitable delivery of assigned construction projects. As the highest on-site project leader, the PM is accountable for scope, schedule, budget, quality, change management, and stakeholder outcomes, while utilizing Procore as GTI’s system of record. This role involves project lifecycle leadership from kickoff through turnover and commissioning, managing both self-perform and subcontracted work. The typical portfolio includes small, medium, and large projects with complex power systems, critical schedules, and rigorous QA/QC requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in construction with 3 years of management history.
  • Strong technical knowledge required for trade (National and local code requirements, familiarity with AutoCAD/BIM, print reading, specifications, submittal process, RFIs, etc.).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in trade specific engineering civil or construction management.
  • OSHA 30 in the construction industry.
  • Competent with Procore, KOJO, AutoCAD, BIM360, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.), Bluebeam, P6 Primavera.

  • Field Experience preferred but not required.
  • Familiar working in the following industries: Mission Critical (Data Centers) Semiconductor, Solar, Simple Cycle Power Generation, Wet Utilities/Mechanical, Mass Grading/Site Prep, Heavy Industrial/Mining Operations.
  • Optional Preferred Educational Certifications: PMP-Construction (Project Management Professional) and/or CCM (Certified Construction Manager).
  • Tradesmen licensing welcome but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Translate contract and owner priorities into a deliverable plan, defining WBS, milestones, CPM logic, procurement lead times, and resource plans in collaboration with the Preconstruction team.
  • Support and implement project controls in Procore and Bluebeam, including budgets, cost codes, RFIs, submittments, change records, and document sets.
  • Own cost stewardship, including Budget Management, Cost Control, Job Costing, Forecasting, and Cash Flow Management.
  • Prepare and approve cost forecasts and owner correspondence related to changes; direct pricing strategy and documentation for Change Orders.
  • Build and maintain lookaheads and CPM-based logic; drive Resource Planning and Resource Allocation with field leadership and subcontractors.
  • Lead Contract Management, interpret terms, and ensure timely, complete RFIs and Submittals.
  • Ensure all records, approvals, and communications are captured in Procore and maintain an auditable project file.
  • Champion Construction Quality Management and compliance with Building Codes and Construction Permitting requirements.
  • Partner with Safety on planning and corrective action, reinforcing stop-work authority and field leadership expectations.
  • Set the communication cadence with owners, GCs, designers, and suppliers; model clear, proactive Communication and Negotiation.
  • Manage expectations and alignment across trades; escalate issues early, with options and impacts.
  • Lead the project team through Leadership, People Management, Coaching, Mentorship, Team Building, and Strategic Prioritization.
  • Develop talent by assigning stretch opportunities and giving timely feedback.
  • Oversee buyout strategy in partnership with Purchasing/Project Buyer; monitor supplier performance and critical deliveries.
  • Plan and drive Project Commissioning and system turnover; coordinate punchlist, O&M, training, and document closeout.
