About The Position

Mainframe Solutions is recruiting an experienced Heavy Civil Project Manager for an established contractor supporting complex civil and infrastructure projects throughout the Houston market. This is an opportunity for a Project Manager who wants ownership of projects rather than simply tracking schedules and paperwork. You will lead projects from planning and mobilization through execution and closeout, working directly with field leadership, subcontractors, vendors, clients, and company leadership. Projects may include underground utilities, excavation, site development, drainage, concrete paving, structural foundations, stabilization, and other heavy civil scopes. If you understand how civil projects are actually built and can balance field execution with cost, schedule, client expectations, and team leadership, this opportunity offers the ability to make an immediate impact.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in heavy civil or infrastructure construction
  • Previous Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager experience with increasing responsibility
  • Strong knowledge of civil plans, specifications, budgets, scheduling, and cost control
  • Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, and field operations
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced construction environment

Responsibilities

  • Manage heavy civil construction projects from mobilization through closeout
  • Oversee scopes involving underground utilities, excavation, drainage, concrete, paving, earthwork, and site development
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, forecasts, and cost controls
  • Coordinate with Superintendents, field crews, subcontractors, vendors, engineers, and clients
  • Monitor production, project costs, schedule performance, and overall profitability
  • Manage RFIs, submittments, change orders, procurement, and project documentation
  • Identify project risks and resolve operational or technical challenges
  • Support subcontractor and vendor selection and coordination
  • Maintain strong communication with clients and internal leadership
  • Ensure projects meet safety, quality, contractual, and schedule requirements

Benefits

  • Compensation ranges from $100,000 to $130,000, depending on experience and overall qualifications.
