About The Position

Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Manager/Senior Project Manager to join their Water & Wastewater Group in Charlottesville, VA. This role is responsible for the successful management of assigned projects and the development of client accounts. Key responsibilities include marketing, client development, ensuring technical quality, profitability, schedule adherence, project staff coordination, client communications, negotiating scopes and fees, billing, and assisting with fee collection. The Project Manager must maintain strong client relationships, cross-sell Timmons Group services, and communicate effectively with the Group Leader. The ability to manage multiple projects of varying sizes is essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with equivalent work experience.
  • Professional registration (P.E.) in Virginia, and/or one or more states in which Timmons Group conducts business.
  • 6 to 10 years of experience in civil engineering related to Water/Wastewater or Infrastructure markets.
  • Ability to manage several mid-sized projects, multiple small projects.
  • High energy, creative, flexible, patient, self-starters.
  • Willingness to work at a dynamic pace.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned projects and develop assigned client accounts.
  • Perform marketing and client development activities.
  • Ensure technical quality of projects.
  • Manage project profitability and schedule.
  • Coordinate project staff.
  • Maintain client communications.
  • Negotiate scopes and fees.
  • Handle billing and assist in fee collection.
  • Perform client follow-up and maintenance.
  • Maintain superior relationships with clients.
  • Cross-sell Timmons Group services.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the Group Leader.
  • Manage several mid-sized projects or multiple small projects.
  • Design/manage portions of a project using relevant office software, modeling and CADD technology.
  • Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills.
  • Utilize computers to solve problems.
  • Prepare specification materials.
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering and construction cost estimates.
