About The Position

Garver is seeking a Civil Project Engineer to join our growing Team in Frisco, TX to continue the tradition of providing quality service to our clients. Responsibilities in this position will include: Coordinating design with other disciplines and subconsultants. Communicating with the project manager on deliverables, schedules, and budgets. Preparing design schematics in collaboration with environmental task leaders and other team members, consistent with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). Preparing plans, specifications, cost estimates, reports, and calculations necessary for a complete deliverable package to the client. Interacting with the client, including preparing communications and other documentation. Mentoring and training younger engineers on roadway design. Serving as a Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Subject Matter Expert (SME) for reviewing deliverables. Supporting the Project Manager during Bid Phase and Construction including answering Requests for Information (RFI), reviewing project submittments from the contractor, preparing addenda and plan revisions. Assisting the Business Team Leader and Project Manager with marketing efforts, including proposal writing, client interaction, and public engagements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas or ability to obtain license through reciprocity.
  • Professional interpersonal and leadership skills, including a willingness to learn and be coached by a mentor.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of relevant site civil design experience
  • Ability to lead a design team to meet a deliverable schedule within a defined budget
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) proficiency.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with design software packages such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Bentley OpenRoads Designer proficiency.
  • Experience in preparing fee proposal hour estimates.
