Civil Project Engineer
About The Position
MacKay is seeking a skilled and motivated Civil Project Engineer (PE) to join its team in Roseville, California. The engineer will lead the design and delivery of land development projects from concept through construction, primarily in residential and commercial land development. The role works closely with clients, local agencies, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to produce high-quality engineering solutions, guide technical design, ensure adherence to engineering standards, and develop innovative, buildable designs. The position also offers opportunities to mentor junior engineers, support client communications, and contribute technical insight and problem-solving to project success.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in California.
- Five years of experience in residential land development and/or road and utility design.
- Experience with stormwater and sanitary sewer design, grading plans, and site development in Northern California.
- Experience mentoring engineers and design technicians.
- Previous experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Responsibilities
- Plan projects, provide design guidance, and manage technical delivery of civil engineering projects, primarily in residential and commercial land development.
- Communicate with clients about current projects and collaborate with project managers and the business development team to position the firm to win future work.
- Direct and support technical staff in delivering projects.
- Assist project managers with preparing and managing project scope, budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
- Support business development efforts and cultivate strong client relationships.
- Mentor junior engineers and design technicians.
