About The Position

S&ME is looking for an eager and dedicated Civil Project Engineer to join our Civil team in Charlotte, North Carolina. As a Civil Project Engineer, you will leverage your technical expertise to drive the successful execution of projects for Energy, Industrial, and Government based clients. Your primary focus will be the evaluation and design of projects involving electrical distribution and transmission systems & facilities, natural gas pipelines & facilities, landfills, mining and quarry facilities, earthen dams, water resources, and renewables.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related field
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in civil engineering design projects
• Professional Engineer (PE) license, or the ability to obtain
• Solid working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil3D, and stormwater modeling programs
• Good business and technical writing skills

Responsibilities

• Leading the development of conceptual designs and conducting rigorous engineering analysis of design alternatives.
• Overseeing the preparation of detailed drawings, specifications, calculations, and construction cost estimates, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
• Managing all aspects of project execution, including schedule and budget management, risk assessment, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
• Taking charge of proposal and report preparation, providing clear and concise communication to clients and stakeholders regarding project progress and milestones.
• Mentoring and guiding junior staff members, sharing your expertise, and fostering their professional growth within the field of civil engineering.
