About The Position

We are currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer II to join our Stormwater Group in our Richmond, Virginia office location. This role involves performing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, providing engineering assistance for stormwater management designs, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of engineering work. The position requires strong technical skills, client communication, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in civil engineering or equivalent with work experience.
  • 3 to 6+ years’ experience in environmental/civil engineering including experience in stream and wetland restoration design.
  • A demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Working knowledge of CADD software (Civil 3D preferred).

  • EIT preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to investigate storm drainage issues and support stormwater management designs.
  • Provide engineering assistance for the design of best management practices (BMPs), low impact development (LID) solutions, natural stream restoration, and other stormwater related projects.
  • Provide technical expertise and check accuracy of all completed work.
  • Assure that a QA/QC review is completed at the appropriate stages of each project.
  • Prepare project specifications to include materials, installation, inspection and payment of items specific to a project.
  • Conduct background research on technical issues and write clear reports and memorandums.
  • Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills and/or utilizes computers in order to solve problems.
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering and construction cost estimates.
  • Complete field observation, inspection and data collection duties as directed.
  • Communicate with clients and internal design team as directed by the Project Manager.
