About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Civil/ Process Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 4 years of experience to join their growing Design Team in the Akron, OH office, specifically within the Water Business Line. The role involves serving water, industrial, and environmental clients nationwide, with a focus on the local municipal water/wastewater market. This is an opportunity for a self-motivated design engineer to contribute to water/wastewater/recycled water projects, design and construction engineering, and client service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field of study.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in water/wastewater/recycled water facilities design and construction support.
  • Strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Functional experience with MS Office applications.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing project drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates.

Nice To Haves

  • Client relationship skills are a plus.
  • Current PE License in Ohio, or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
  • Task Lead, Task Manager, or Design Lead experience on water/wastewater projects of various sizes.

Responsibilities

  • Use Arcadis standards and specifications for water/wastewater design and construction projects.
  • Design and construction support for water/wastewater treatment plants, storm water systems, distribution/collection systems, and pump/lift stations.
  • Assist in creation of construction documents and specifications and interact with and oversee the work of CAD staff.
  • Meet established budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment; for project/task scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Engage with clients to support needs and provide solutions.
  • Coordinate execution of projects with other engineering disciplines and office personnel.
  • Develop design projects from inception to completion, prepare construction packages (including all deliverables) for the engineering, procurement, and construction of water/wastewater systems for clients.
  • Create cost estimates and project schedules and perform detailed engineering calculations and analysis and use design software to solve complex challenges.
