About The Position

KPFF is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead and expand its Civil practice in the Washington, DC Metro Region. This role offers a path to ownership and entrepreneurial opportunities within a supportive and flexible design firm environment. The position targets senior civil engineers with 10-15 years of experience who are ready to lead the DC office and drive business development with autonomy and support. Candidates should have strong private civil consulting experience mainly in DC/MD/VA, client-facing skills, general site development expertise, and the ability to manage multiple projects while delivering excellent client service. The position offers a salary range of $150,000-$180,000 and encourages applicants who seek autonomy and growth in a non-bureaucratic setting to apply. Once a path to ownership has been achieved, the salary becomes part of a total compensation package with additional long-term bonuses and stock options. Requirements

  • 10-15 years of experience primarily in the DC/MD/VA region
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) with an active license
  • Strong background in private civil consulting, with experience focused on general site development
  • Proven client-facing experience with solid local connections and contacts to generate new project opportunities
  • Strong technical proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities effectively
  • Passionate about providing exceptional client service and building lasting client relationships
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and develop staff while effectively managing and directing project resources
