About The Position

Operate heavy equipment for construction and maintenance projects in the Hollis Creek area, primarily focusing on civil and mechanical tasks. This role requires the ability to safely and efficiently operate various machinery and maintain a valid driver's license.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience operating a variety of heavy civil and mechanical equipment.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred but not required.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
  • Strong understanding of excavation, grading, and general construction practices.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to heavy equipment operation and construction sites.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in various weather conditions.
  • Physical ability to perform strenuous tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of heavy equipment including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, backhoes, trenchers, and other construction and mechanical equipment.
  • Perform pre-operation and post-operation inspections of equipment, ensuring proper functionality and safety.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as needed, reporting larger issues to supervisors.
  • Dig, backfill, and grade trenches, foundations, and other earthwork according to project specifications and blueprints.
  • Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of pipelines, utility systems, and other civil infrastructure.
  • Load and unload materials, supplies, and equipment from trucks and trailers.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and environmental guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and other personnel on site.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs and reports of work performed and equipment used.
  • Perform general labor duties as required when not operating equipment.
