About The Position

The Civil/Mechanical Equipment Operator (Non-Driver) at Hollis Creek will be responsible for operating heavy equipment on renewable energy construction sites, primarily focusing on civil and mechanical tasks without requiring direct road driving of the equipment. This role is crucial for site preparation, material handling, and the installation of components for solar and wind farms.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy civil and/or mechanical construction equipment.
  • Proven ability to operate multiple types of heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Strong understanding of construction site safety procedures and protocols.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
  • Willingness to travel and work on projects in various locations as required.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications is a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Relevant equipment operator certifications are a significant advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of heavy equipment, including but not limited to excavators, bulldozers, skid steers, forklifts, telehandlers, and other machinery used for civil and mechanical construction activities.
  • Perform site preparation tasks such as grading, leveling, trenching, and earthmoving.
  • Assist with the unloading, movement, and placement of materials and components for solar arrays, wind turbine foundations, and other renewable energy infrastructure.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, company policies, and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with ground crews, supervisors, and other operators to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, damage, or safety concerns immediately to the supervisor.
  • May be required to perform manual labor tasks when not operating equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
