About The Position

Primoris Renewable Energy is seeking an Equipment Operator (Non-Driver) for our Big Island location. This role involves operating various heavy equipment to support solar construction projects, ensuring safety and efficiency on site.

Requirements

  • Proven experience operating heavy equipment in a construction or industrial setting, preferably within renewable energy or solar projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate multiple types of heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Strong understanding of equipment capabilities, limitations, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, and bending for extended periods in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Adherence to strict safety guidelines and commitment to a safe work environment.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of heavy equipment, including but not limited to, excavators, dozers, loaders, skid steers, and forklifts, to perform tasks such as grading, trenching, material handling, and site preparation.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, company policies, and OSHA regulations while operating equipment and performing duties.
  • Conduct pre-operational and post-operational checks of equipment, including fluid levels, tires, lights, and other components, reporting any defects or malfunctions to supervisors.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment as required.
  • Load and unload materials and supplies as directed, ensuring proper securing and handling.
  • Assist with general labor tasks on site when not operating equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and other site personnel.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow project plans and specifications accurately.
