About The Position

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for US-based attorneys with hands-on experience in legal aid, nonprofit legal services, public interest practice, and civil representation across housing, family, consumer protection, debt, and foreclosure matters. This short-term role supports an AI evaluation initiative focused on improving the accuracy, completeness, and practical usefulness of AI-generated civil legal analyses. Selected attorneys will review realistic legal scenarios, identify substantive and procedural issues, and provide structured feedback grounded in direct client advocacy and courtroom experience.

Requirements

At least 3 years of professional experience practising civil legal services
Active admission to practise law in at least one US jurisdiction
Experience representing individuals and families through legal aid, nonprofit, or public interest organisations
Demonstrated expertise in housing, family law, consumer protection, debt defence, or foreclosure
Strong knowledge of civil procedure and jurisdiction-specific court practices
Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
Ability to provide precise, structured, and practical written feedback
Current residence in the United States
A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school is required
Active US bar admission in good standing is required

Nice To Haves

Experience within a legal aid organisation or nonprofit legal-services provider
Background representing vulnerable or underserved populations
Familiarity with local court rules, filing requirements, and civil legal-services workflows
Experience reviewing legal work products or supervising junior attorneys
Knowledge of protective-order proceedings, subsidised housing, bankruptcy, or debt collection defence
Interest or prior involvement in legal technology, AI-assisted research, or structured legal evaluation
Experience developing training materials, checklists, legal guides, or quality-review frameworks
Additional training in civil procedure, housing law, family law, consumer protection, or public interest advocacy may be valuable
Continuing legal education in relevant civil-practice areas may strengthen an application

Responsibilities

Review AI-generated legal analyses for accuracy, completeness, and practical applicability
Assess issue spotting, legal reasoning, factual analysis, and proposed conclusions
Identify unsupported assumptions, missing legal issues, and incorrect interpretations
Evaluate whether responses reflect realistic civil legal-services practice
Review housing matters involving eviction, subsidised housing, landlord-tenant disputes, and foreclosure
Review family-law scenarios involving custody, child support, domestic violence, and protective orders
Assess available remedies, procedural requirements, filing obligations, and jurisdiction-specific considerations
Identify guidance that may create practical or legal risk for clients
Evaluate scenarios involving collections, garnishments, bankruptcy, predatory lending, and consumer protection
Review procedural steps, notices, deadlines, defences, exemptions, and available remedies
Identify missing documentation requirements and incomplete legal strategies
Apply practical experience supporting individuals and families facing financial hardship
Provide clear written evaluations explaining legal and procedural strengths and weaknesses
Recommend specific improvements to reasoning, structure, and practical guidance
Apply consistent review standards across varied civil legal scenarios
Incorporate courtroom, client-counselling, and advocacy experience into each assessment
