2027 Summer Intern - Civil Engineering, Traffic
About The Position
This internship is for an undergraduate pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an interest in traffic. The intern will join the Surface Transportation team and apply academic knowledge while working alongside Professional Engineers and Technicians. The team designs safe and efficient transportation infrastructure systems for various clients. The intern will assist with observing and collecting traffic data, completing intersection evaluations and corridor studies, and conducting analyses using simulation and modeling software. Additionally, the intern will help prepare preliminary designs and develop construction plans for traffic signals, construction staging, maintenance of traffic, and signing/striping.
Requirements
- Undergraduate pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an interest in traffic or transportation engineering.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Nice To Haves
- Previous coursework or project assignments related to transportation or traffic.
- Previous experience or formal training with AutoCAD and/or Microstation.
