Civil Engineering Intern - Summer 2027
About The Position
STV is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Civil Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. The internship provides undergraduate and graduate-level candidates an opportunity to work alongside an experienced team, learn, and contribute to meaningful projects. This is a hybrid position requiring at least three days per week in the office. Preference is given to candidates who can participate for at least three months and work full-time. The position is not eligible for sponsorship. The intern will assist with civil engineering design and project development, collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders, support client and agency coordination, and contribute to feasibility studies, site investigations, risk assessments, reports, applications, proposals, and engineering documentation. The intern will also work with engineering software and learn and apply current engineering standards and procedures. The compensation range is $41,107.00–$46,713.00. STV notes that the final salary may differ based on factors including geography, education, experience, and certifications.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering at an ABET-accredited university or NCEES equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of MicroStation, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and/or Open Roads Designer.
- Experience in the architecture, engineering, or construction management industry.
- Ability to participate in the internship for at least three months.
- Ability to work full-time.
Responsibilities
- Assist in designing civil engineering projects from conceptualization through completion, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and project specifications.
- Collaborate with architects, environmental engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate project elements.
- Interface with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to address project-related issues and support project success.
- Support feasibility studies, site investigations, and risk assessments to inform project design and development.
- Assist in preparing technical reports, narratives, and development applications.
- Contribute to engineering designs using software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Learn and apply current engineering standards and procedures to assigned projects.
- Assist with preparing technical proposals and engineering project documentation.
- Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor to support project goals and team objectives.
