About The Position

The Civil Engineering Intern completes assigned projects and tasks during the internship period. The role involves frequent travel to and from Viaflex job sites, participation in company-sponsored training, educational seminars, and events, and close collaboration with an assigned mentor and manager. The intern provides periodic project updates and completes an end-of-summer internship presentation. The position also supports continuous improvement and promotion of the division’s quality management system in accordance with ISO standards, demonstrates Viaflex Team Member Values, and may assist with comparable duties or other areas as needed.

The role is based primarily in a normal office environment, with occasional entry into production areas that may involve noise, fumes, moving machinery, and varied temperatures. Physical activities include sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching; reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Currently pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously without close supervision.
• Problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to identify waste and creatively seek solutions.
• Ability to work with a high level of confidentiality.
• Flexibility and ability to multitask.
• Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff.

Responsibilities

• Complete projects and tasks assigned within the internship discipline.
• Travel frequently to and from Viaflex job sites.
• Attend Viaflex-sponsored training and educational seminars and participate in Viaflex-sponsored events.
• Work with an assigned mentor and manager to complete the internship successfully.
• Provide periodic updates to managers and peers on assigned projects.
• Complete an end-of-summer internship presentation.
• Demonstrate Viaflex Team Member Values and encourage teams to do the same.
• Perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and assist in other areas as needed.
• Learn, understand, continuously improve, and promote the division’s quality management system in accordance with ISO standards.
