About The Position
The City of Columbia Heights is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to work from June 15, 2026 through August or September 2026. This position involves conducting field investigations, supporting project documentation, assisting in plan reviews, and attending project meetings. The intern will perform duties in support of engineering staff.
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of post high school coursework.
- Interest in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of engineering or surveying courses.
- Experience using MS Office, Excel, AutoCAD and ArcMap.
Responsibilities
- Conduct field investigations and site inspections.
- Support project documentation, including quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and reports.
- Assist in reviewing construction plans and specifications for accuracy and compliance.
- Attend project meetings and take notes or prepare meeting summaries.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of engineering staff.
