About The Position

Mabbett & Associates, Inc. (Mabbett®) is seeking a self-motivated and highly organized Civil Engineering Candidate to support our AE Engineering group based in Stoneham, Massachusetts. This position will be based in Stoneham, MA with routine, short-term travel to specific project sites throughout the U.S. The base salary is $20-$24/hr, with compensation potentially varying based on work experience, education/training, certifications, and other business factors. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and related continuing education.
  • 4 years of progressive and responsible experience pertaining to the finance and accounting needs and activities of a professional services company, including: general ledger; accounts receivable and payable; payroll; data analysis; project management reporting, etc.
  • Must have a strong attention to detail; excellent organizational and communications (written and verbal) and record keeping skills.
  • The candidate selected for this position must be approachable and able to interact in a positive and constructive manner with employees at all levels of the firm.
  • Strong computer/IT systems knowledge and proficiency in all Microsoft Office® Programs, including, but not limited to: Word®, Outlook®, PowerPoint® and Excel®.
  • Must be a strong team player and able to work as a member of the finance and accounting team, as well as independently.
  • This position will require the ability to multitask, work well under pressure and adapt to changing deadlines and schedules sometimes on short-notice.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience working in the architect/engineer/contractor (A/E/C) industry is preferred.
  • Experience with U.S. Federal government contracting and Federal Acquisition Regulations and invoicing practices is a plus.
  • Experience posting to FTP sites is a plus.
  • Experience using Deltek Vantagepoint® project management and finance and accounting software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with field work at project sites including but not limited to surveying, data collection, and documenting existing conditions using standardized procedures developed by more senior staff.
  • Assists with processing collected field data and preparation of design drawings using Autodesk AutoCAD and C3D.
  • Uses standard techniques to perform simple and routine calculations, as well as to assist with other routine engineering design tasks including: Proposed grading, Stormwater systems, Cut/fill calculations, Utilities (sewer, drain, water).
  • Assists technical staff in the preparation of specifications, and reports.
  • Works on projects of limited complexity in a support role while performing work assignments which are closely managed by a supervisor or manager.
  • Travel to project sites throughout New England as required.
