About The Position

GeoEngineers is seeking motivated civil engineering students for a summer 2027 geotechnical internship in Alexandria, Louisiana. The role offers intensive, real-world experience and mentorship from professional engineers, including outdoor fieldwork and exposure to geotechnical engineering. Interns monitor field explorations and construction projects, document field conditions, may assist with routine laboratory testing and analyses, and support engineers with office and project deliverables. They also help maintain lab and field equipment, keep current with company training requirements, and work safely while supporting the safe practices of their team.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in Civil Engineering.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Ability to interpret and apply technical information.
• Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation.
• Ability to perform a wide range of physical activities, including regular walking, bending, standing, and reaching, and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform consistent work on a PC with prolonged sitting and viewing a monitor or screen.

Responsibilities

• Monitor field explorations and construction projects under the guidance of engineers and scientists.
• Document field conditions and complete field reports.
• Assist with routine laboratory testing and analyses as needed.
• Assist engineers with office and project-related deliverables.
• Organize and maintain laboratory and field equipment when needed.
• Maintain field readiness and stay up to date on company training requirements.
• Conduct work safely and support safe work practices of team members.
