Civil Engineering Intern – Summer 2027
About The Position
AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern – Summer 2027 to join our Henderson, NV office. This role involves assisting with the preparation and organization of engineering drawings, specifications, and project documentation. Interns will support engineering investigations and planning by collecting data, performing basic analyses, completing routine calculations, and evaluating potential solutions. They will also contribute to technical reports, assist with project and construction-related activities, gather and analyze project data, and perform basic engineering calculations and analyses under supervision.
Requirements
- Must have completed 60 hours towards a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2027).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Nice To Haves
- Experience with AutoCAD or Civil 3D
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and organization of engineering drawings, specifications, and project documentation under the guidance of experienced team members.
- Support engineering investigations and planning activities by collecting data, performing basic analyses, completing routine calculations, and helping evaluate potential solutions using established procedures.
- Contribute to the development of technical reports by preparing assigned sections, compiling information, and incorporating feedback from supervisors.
- Assist with project and construction-related activities, including reviewing shop drawings for general compliance, maintaining project records, tracking progress, observing construction operations, and supporting quality control efforts.
- Gather and analyze project data related to design alternatives, site conditions, and applicable regulations to support engineering evaluations and recommendations.
- Help prepare reports, presentations, permit application materials, and other project documents by researching information, drafting content, and creating basic graphics and supporting materials.
- Perform basic engineering calculations and analyses under supervision, using standard engineering methods and tools.
