About The Position

As a Civil Engineering Intern/Co-Op with Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in the Knoxville, Tennessee office, you will work with project teams to gain experience and develop your skills in designing and preparing engineering plans and exhibits for clients. Projects include site development work, from urban redevelopments and new steel mills to energy infrastructure projects. You will learn how CEC works with clients, contractors, and government officials, and experience multiple project phases—from conceptual design and regulatory review through bidding and construction to project openings. The internship program provides practical experience applying college coursework, opportunities to learn from industry experts and collaborate across teams and locations, a discipline-specific mentor, professional networking and social activities, and workshops focused on interpersonal skills and preparation for a full-time career.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in an undergraduate Civil or Environmental Engineering program.
AutoCAD experience.
Legally authorized to work for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Work with project teams on the design and preparation of engineering plans and exhibits for clients.
