About The Position

WGM Group is hiring a Civil Engineering Intern for summer 2027 in its Kalispell office. WGM Group is a multidisciplinary engineering firm working in planning and design, surveying, environmental services, and natural resource management. The internship offers exposure to a variety of project types and disciplines.

The intern will assist with civil engineering projects and tasks, including planning, design, field surveying, construction observation, infrastructure testing, traffic counts, cost estimates, and project documentation. Depending on experience, the intern may also assist in designing plans for public capital improvement projects, commercial sites, and subdivisions.

WGM Group offers hourly pay, with hours worked over 40 per week eligible for overtime compensation. Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform in a deadline-driven environment.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to take on new challenges.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in AutoCAD Civil3D.

Responsibilities

• Assist on projects involving civil engineering tasks, planning, and design.
• Produce redlines on engineering documents using Civil3D.
• Provide survey support as a field crew member, including grade stake computations and marking.
• Perform construction observation and infrastructure testing for water and sewer.
• Assist in preparing cost estimate quantities.
• Conduct traffic counts.
• Maintain project files and databases.
• Support development of reports, calculation packages, and specifications.
• Depending on experience, assist with designing plans for public capital improvement projects, commercial sites, and subdivisions.
