Entry Level Civil Engineer
About The Position

We are seeking entry-level Civil Engineers to join our teams in Indiana. At Egis, we collaborate with public and private clients to design and deliver innovative transportation, aviation, rail, transit, water, structural, environmental, and infrastructure solutions. This role offers an opportunity to work on complex transportation design projects in Indiana, create horizontal and vertical alignments, develop 3D roadway models, and perform engineering calculations for pavement design, traffic engineering, and drainage systems. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, prepare high-quality deliverables, provide construction phase support, and conduct site visits.
Requirements
- BS in Civil Engineering
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification or ability to obtain within 1 year
- 0-4 years of relevant experience in transportation engineering
- Strong verbal/written communication skills and ability to collaborate with in-person and remote teams
- Excellent time management and organization to work on concurrent projects and deliver projects on time
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with OpenRoads and AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Working knowledge of DOT standards and procedures
Responsibilities
- Create horizontal and vertical alignments and develop detailed 3D roadway models
- Perform engineering calculations for pavement design, traffic engineering, and drainage systems
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to prepare high-quality deliverables including design drawings, reports, specifications, presentations, and cost estimates
- Provide construction phase support by reviewing shop drawings, submittals, and responding to contractor questions
- Conduct site visits to evaluate existing roadways and drainage systems
- Maintain thorough and organized project documentation
