About The Position

The Civil Engineering Department at AKRF is seeking an Entry Level Civil Engineer to work in our High Bridge, New Jersey office. This individual will serve a key function in assisting our team to design commercial, residential, and industrial sites primarily in New Jersey. The potential candidate will have the opportunity to work in an environment of encouragement and collaboration.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
0-1 years of work experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
Reliable transportation to access job sites, on occasion, with a valid driver’s license in good standing.
Demonstrate ability to follow direction and work in a collaborative team environment.
Experience with computer aided drafting software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

FE/EIT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation and modification of various engineering documents including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates, and design plans for projects using engineering and design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.) and equipment.
Field work consisting of soil testing for proposed stormwater management systems and septic systems, field edit of survey work, collection of elevations using various field equipment.
Site/civil design including concept plans, site layout, grading, drainage, utility design, stormwater management design, landscape and lighting design, and soil erosion and sediment control plans.
