About The Position

Egis is seeking entry-level civil engineers to join their teams in Indiana. The role involves working on complex transportation design projects in Indiana, creating horizontal and vertical alignments, developing 3D roadway models, and performing engineering calculations for pavement design, traffic engineering, and drainage systems. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to prepare deliverables such as design drawings, reports, specifications, presentations, and cost estimates is expected. The position also includes providing construction phase support, reviewing shop drawings and submittals, responding to contractor questions, and conducting site visits to evaluate existing roadways and drainage systems. Maintaining thorough and organized project documentation is also a key aspect of the role.

Requirements

  • BS in Civil Engineering
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification or ability to obtain within 1 year
  • 0-4 years of relevant experience in transportation engineering
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills and ability to collaborate with in-person and remote teams
  • Excellent time management and organization to work on concurrent projects and deliver projects on time

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with OpenRoads and AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Working knowledge of DOT standards and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Work on complex transportation design projects in Indiana.
  • Create horizontal and vertical alignments and develop detailed 3D roadway models.
  • Perform engineering calculations for pavement design, traffic engineering, and drainage systems.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to prepare high-quality deliverables including design drawings, reports, specifications, presentations, and cost estimates.
