About The Position

We have an opening for a highly-skilled and experienced Civil Engineer. This role involves analyzing survey reports, maps, and plans for project planning, overseeing survey operations, developing site grading and drainage plans, and ensuring SWPPP implementation and maintenance. The Civil Engineer will also be responsible for checking and reconciling drawings with field survey control points, submitting permit applications, and budgeting construction costs and risk analysis. Site investigations, stakeholder coordination, and project support, including bid package preparation, schedule management, Bill of Materials (BOM) preparation, and cost estimate development, are key aspects of this position. Additionally, the role supports the engineering department's efficient operation and continuous improvement through software evaluation and provides support for technical and construction activities necessary for project completion, including technical inspections and field verification of P&IDs. Ensuring projects are managed safely, professionally, and in compliance with SHE requirements is essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with preference to civil, mechanical and electrical disciplines
  • Professional Engineer license
  • 1-3 years of Project or civil engineering experience.
  • Management of small projects
  • 4-6 years of experience in industrial construction projects
  • Experience in the industrial and specialty gas industry desired.
  • Professional Engineer Registered in Texas
  • Comprehensive knowledge of basic engineering principles, construction, and project management.
  • Ability to effectively communicate through excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail, prioritization, and multi-tasking.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Projects, Excel, AutoCAD, Civil 3D.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and/or software packages.
  • Knowledge of high-pressure gas systems and/or cryogenic liquids helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze survey reports, maps, plans, and other relevant information for project planning.
  • Oversee survey operations for construction.
  • Develop site grading and drainage plans.
  • Oversee SWPPP implementation and maintenance in accordance with regulations.
  • Check and reconcile drawings with field survey control points, ensure elevations, rebar placement, top of concrete, foundation location matches the drawings before concrete is ordered.
  • Submit permit applications for projects with multiple regulations to appropriate local, state and federal agencies.
  • Budget construction cost and risk analysis for projects.
  • Conduct field visits and analyze survey data, soil reports, and environmental constraints to determine project feasibility.
  • Liaise with architects, contractors, government officials, and project managers to resolve design modifications and project issues.
  • Support Project Managers and other engineers in project activities including preparation of bid packages, acquisition of quotations and bids, preparation of purchase order documents, tracking orders and processing invoices.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of project schedules, Gantt charts, and departmental calendars.
  • Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) for projects under direction of project managers.
  • Assist in the development of project cost estimates.
  • Support activities and projects to maintain efficient operation and continued improvement of the engineering department, including evaluation of software packages for process, safety, document control or project management.
  • Support technical and construction activities and necessary for project completion, including conducting technical inspections of all components built for the project.
  • Field verification of P&IDs and redlining/correction as required.
  • Ensure that the project is managed in a safe and professional manner and that it is undertaken in compliance with all relevant SHE requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
