Civil Engineer (Recent Graduate)

Bureau of Reclamation•Lakewood, CO

About The Position

Reclamation is seeking a recent graduate Civil Engineer to support programs and activities in its Research and Development Office. The position combines technical knowledge of water-management-related science and engineering with project and program management principles. The employee may also support other office programs and activities as anticipated or emerging work requires. This is a one-year, full-time developmental appointment under the Pathways Recent Graduates Program. The employee will participate in a formal training program with a mentor, complete an Individual Development Plan, and receive at least 40 hours of formal training related to the employment field. Duties are developmental when the position is filled below the full-performance level. The work regularly combines office and field assignments. Duties may involve field inspections and construction activities, driving to work sites—including remote sites—and overnight travel. The position is suitable for telework, which may be allowed with supervisor approval. The selectee must maintain a valid state driver's license and obtain a government travel charge card. Overnight travel may be required up to two nights per month.
