AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in Philadelphia on October 7-8, 2026. This is a great opportunity to learn and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2027. The event kicks off on Wednesday evening with a networking mixer from 6-8 pm, where you can hear from AECOM staff about various projects, career paths, and the company itself. You’ll also have the chance to meet other students, recent graduates, and AECOM professionals from across our business lines. On Thursday, interviews will take place at our Philadelphia office. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and connect with AECOM for early career opportunities. The Civil Engineering Department of AECOM’s Transportation Business Line is actively seeking Civil Engineers for immediate employment in our Philadelphia, PA office. Under the supervision of a Project Engineer, the appropriately qualified applicant will be part of a Design Team responsible for the design of small to large-scale Highway Improvement Projects such as roadway rehabilitation/safety improvement projects (3R), intersection improvements/optimizations, interstate/limited access highway widening/reconstruction. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Originating technical calculations that advance the design of the project. Assisting in the development of roadway alignments, traffic control plans, right-of-way determination, utility coordination utilizing OpenRoads Designer, Microstation, AutoCAD and a variety Obtaining and reviewing of existing information including some field work/site investigations. Developing 3D models using civil engineering software such as Bentley OpenRoads Designer or Autodesk Civil 3D. Assisting in the preparation of technical reports and project specifications. Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision. Enthusiastic individuals eager to face new challenges and take on personal responsibilities are best qualified to meet the demands of this work. An entry level engineer is expected to be able to apply technical training to perform basic calculations, work well in a team setting and be willing to work diligently to learn new skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Entry level engineer is expected to be able to apply technical training to perform basic calculations, work well in a team setting and be willing to work diligently to learn new skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam, or ability to take within 6-12 months of employment.
  • Some experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and other civil engineering-related software (Civil 3D, OpenRoads).
  • Previous work experience or internship with engineering firms, contractors, or DOTs involved in the design, construction, or management of highway or other transportation-related projects.
