About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Civil Engineer to join their Water sector. This role, based in Baton Rouge, LA or Metairie, LA, focuses on supporting municipal drainage and water/wastewater infrastructure projects. The position involves conceptual planning, detailed engineering design, and construction specifications for various projects including open channel and subsurface drainage systems, pumping stations, water distribution systems, sanitary sewer collection systems, and lift stations. Key areas of focus include hydraulic design, project layout, grading, drainage, and subsurface utility coordination.

Requirements

10 years or more of relevant experience
BS degree in Civil Engineering
PE License in Louisiana

Nice To Haves

Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D and related drainage/water systems design tools.
Client-facing experience and ability to develop contacts and relationships.
Ability to produce quality materials on schedule while managing multiple projects.

Responsibilities

Leading a design team in the preparation of engineering reports, design calculations, design drawings, and contract specifications.
Using guidelines from federal, state, regional, and municipal agencies.
Overseeing the preparation of construction quantity takeoffs and construction cost estimates.
Providing technical expertise on multi-disciplined projects as a design leader, QA/QC reviewer, or technical advisor.
Navigating local and state permitting requirements to obtain regulatory approvals.
Supervising and supporting the work of others while mentoring junior level staff.
Working directly with clients to identify needs, develop solutions, and grow relationships.
