Green International Affiliates, Inc., a Lochner Company, is looking for a Civil Engineer. This role involves assisting with roadway and site design tasks, including basic layout, utilities, grading, and construction details, in accordance with applicable standards and regulations. The engineer will prepare design drawings for water, stormwater, and sanitary sewer systems under the supervision of senior engineers, and perform standard hydrologic and hydraulic calculations using engineering software. Field observations to support utility work and review of contractor shop drawings are also key responsibilities. The position supports Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) inspections, utility coordination, and preparation of basic engineering quantity take-offs and cost estimates. Field survey activities and manhole inspections will also be part of the role. The position requires travel to various unanticipated locations throughout the Northeast Region of the U.S. for long- and short-term assignments at client sites. Multiple positions are available.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering
  • Two (2) years of experience in the job offered, or related engineering role.
  • Travel to various unanticipated locations throughout the Northeast Region of the U.S. for long- and short-term assignments at client sites.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with roadway and site design tasks, including basic layout, utilities, grading, and construction details, in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.
  • Prepare design drawings for water, stormwater, and sanitary sewer systems under the supervision of senior engineers.
  • Perform standard hydrologic and hydraulic calculations using engineering software as directed.
  • Conduct field observations to support utility work (water, drainage, wastewater) and assist with reviewing contractor shop drawings.
  • Support Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) inspections under the guidance of certified staff.
  • Assist with utility coordination, including collecting and organizing record information and preparing existing conditions drawings.
  • Prepare basic engineering quantity take-offs and cost estimates with direction from senior staff.
  • Support field survey activities, including use of GPS equipment and total stations, and assist with manhole inspections and reporting.
  • Travel to various unanticipated locations throughout the Northeast Region of the U.S. for long- and short-term assignments at client sites.
