This role serves as the Engineer of Record, responsible for stamping and sealing civil and structural design documents. The position involves leading civil and structural design efforts for infrastructure upgrades and facility improvements at SPR sites. Key responsibilities include developing and reviewing structural steel systems, reinforced concrete foundations, equipment and tank foundations, anchorage and embedment systems, and grading, drainage, and site development plans. The role requires performing structural analysis in accordance with industry standards such as ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC Steel Manual, UFC criteria, and DOE standards. The engineer will prepare and review calculations, technical specifications, design narratives, and construction documents, while also coordinating with other engineering disciplines. Additional duties include supporting value engineering and constructability reviews, providing quality assurance, offering engineering support during construction (RFIs, submittals, site visits), and participating in field investigations and structural condition assessments. Projects are primarily delivered using a Design-Bid-Build approach within a federal contracting framework.
