About The Position

Performs a variety of more difficult technical and supportive professional engineering tasks for FAST-TRAC and other ITS programs. This role requires a functional working knowledge of Microsoft Office, a demonstrated willingness and desire to learn new skills, strong communication skills (verbal and written), the ability to work within a team environment, and the performance of duties in a professional manner to promote a positive image of the Road Commission for Oakland County. A daily schedule that supports RCOC hours of operation and regular, predictable onsite job attendance are required.

Requirements

Functional working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Must demonstrate strong communication skills (verbal and written).
Must have the ability to work within a team environment.
Must perform duties in a professional manner to promote a positive image of the Road Commission for Oakland County.
Requires a daily schedule that supports RCOC hours of operation.
Regular and predictable onsite job attendance.
A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering is required.
A valid State of Michigan Driver License is required.
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
Must possess a valid Driver's License.

Nice To Haves

One (1) year of experience commensurate with the duties described above is preferred.

Responsibilities

Generate traffic signal timings for both SCATS and non-SCATS intersections.
Prepare and distribute accurate signal paperwork for field install.
Prepare and enter SCATS and CENTRACS data.
Monitor traffic in the field or remotely (SCATS, CCTV); make appropriate changes.
Coordinate Communication and/or Detection issues.
Respond to Cityworks requests / comments.
Review and provide comments on consultant signal timing projects.
Respond to overtime calls.
