About The Position

CEI Engineering Associates, Inc. is hiring a full-time Civil Designer to provide AutoCAD design for its civil engineering company. The Civil Designer creates complete site development plan sets, including site geometry, utilities, grading, drainage, and erosion and sediment control, while following client specifications and company design standards. The role also includes drainage calculations for slopes, sewer design, hydraulic systems, detention ponds, and related work. The designer takes projects from concept through construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D and works on projects across a variety of industries. The position involves analyzing surveys, field notes, and other materials to identify potential problems and help keep projects on schedule and within budget. The Civil Designer completes redlines and revisions promptly, collaborates with project managers on progress and project challenges, and supports the design staff as needed. The role follows a full-time hybrid schedule with some overnight travel. How much remote work is possible depends on the employee’s skills and experience and the department’s needs.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or landscape architecture.
High proficiency with AutoCAD and the Microsoft Office suite.
Full range of visual depth perception and ability to distinguish colors.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Ability to occasionally travel overnight.

Nice To Haves

Two or more years of CAD civil design experience is strongly preferred.
Certification as an EIT is preferred.

Responsibilities
