About The Position

EXP is hiring a Civil Designer for its Living & Learning Division, based in the Miami (Coral Gables), Florida office. The role supports building performance, sustainability, resiliency, and infrastructure initiatives across project types including residential and education facilities. The Civil Designer assists with engineering documentation, performs design analysis and calculations, develops design alternatives and technical solutions, and may work in the field as necessary.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with an emphasis on quality work products.
• Willingness to work outside in good and inclement weather.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of 3D modeling is desirable but not required.
• Active participation in professional societies at the local and state level is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing and modifying engineering documents, including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates, and design plans, using engineering and design software and equipment.
• Perform analysis and design calculations according to applicable design codes, using computer programs as appropriate.
• Prepare alternative design solutions and conceptual options.
• Develop solutions to a wide range of technical problems.
• Work in the field as necessary.
• Perform other duties as needed.
