Fluidstack•Austin, TX
•$135,000 - $150,000

About The Position

Fluidstack is seeking a Civil Designer for its Capacity Delivery work. The role produces civil drawing sets for data center site development, including grading, drainage, erosion control, utilities, and site plans, taking engineer redlines through issued-for-construction documents. The designer turns revisions around quickly during permitting and construction, maintains civil CAD standards so project drawing sets remain consistent, coordinates civil sheets with structural and architectural models to identify clashes, and prepares permit exhibits, plats, and agency-requested revisions. The work supports Fluidstack's broader effort to design and build data center infrastructure at large scale.

Requirements

  • Experience drafting civil construction documents in Civil 3D or AutoCAD that were issued for construction and built from.
  • Ability to build surfaces, grading, corridors, and pipe networks in Civil 3D, from survey data through finished sheets.
  • Experience turning engineer redlines into finished sheets on same-day deadlines while maintaining drawing-set consistency.
  • Ability to maintain internally consistent drawing sets, with resolved callouts, aligned matchlines, and present referenced details.
  • Experience working to deadlines where a missed submittal could delay a permit.
  • Experience setting up or maintaining CAD standards followed by other drafters.

Nice To Haves

  • Data center, industrial, or utility-scale solar site work.
  • Revit or Navisworks coordination experience.
  • Survey data processing experience.
  • Permit exhibit and plat preparation experience.
  • Erosion control and SWPPP drawing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Produce civil drawing sets for data center site development, including grading, drainage, erosion control, utilities, and site plans, from engineer redlines through issued-for-construction.
  • Turn drawing revisions around within a day when permitting or construction submittals and RFIs are waiting on the sheet.
  • Build and maintain civil CAD standards, including templates, layers, and detail libraries.
  • Coordinate civil sheets against structural and architectural models to identify clashes before field work.
  • Prepare permit exhibits, plats, and agency-requested revisions.
