About The Position

Kleinfelder is seeking Civil Engineers/Designers to work on challenging site-civil land development projects for public and private clients in the Mid-Atlantic Region. The role reports to the Hunt Valley, Maryland office and performs site-civil engineering tasks by applying relevant design criteria, standards, and processes. Occasional travel to project or client sites may be required to complete work or attend meetings.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
4–8 years of relevant site-civil engineering design experience.
EIT certification.
PE license or ability to obtain a PE within the next 6 months.
AutoCAD skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, project managers, supervisors, and other team members.
Valid driver's license and demonstrated safe driving practices.
Local residency or ability to relocate at personal expense.
Satisfactory completion of employment reference checks, verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials, a motor vehicle report, and a comprehensive background check following an offer.

Nice To Haves

Civil 3D experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Design engineering project elements including layout, grading, earthwork, storm drains, septic systems, sanitary sewers, water, stormwater management, and erosion and sediment control.
Perform field investigations to determine existing conditions.
Prepare design submission packages for agency review and approval.
Participate in local, state, and federal permitting and complete as-constructed/as-built drawings.
Interpret and apply applicable federal, state, and local codes.
Draft technical specifications.
Occasionally travel to project or client sites to complete tasks or attend meetings.
