About The Position

S. A. Miro, Inc. is seeking a self-motivated Civil Design Engineer Intern to join our team. This is a hands-on internship with exposure to a diverse range of local land development and municipal projects, working alongside licensed engineers through design and construction phases. Interns at Miro contribute to live project work under the direction of a supervising engineer.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a B.S. in Civil Engineering
Completion of foundational coursework in transportation and/or site design
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in an in-person team environment
Attention to detail and a willingness to ask questions

Nice To Haves

Rising junior, senior, or graduate student with a land development or water resources emphasis
Coursework or project exposure to AutoCAD Civil 3D
Familiarity with StormCAD, Flowmaster, or Mile High Flood District design tools
Interest in commercial and institutional site development, campus planning, or municipal infrastructure
Front Range familiarity is advantageous
On track to sit for the FE exam

Responsibilities

Assist in preparing construction documents, site plans, and technical specifications
Support utility layout, grading, and drainage design tasks under supervision
Perform engineering calculations and assist with drainage and hydraulic analysis
Help compile submittments to municipalities and review agencies
Support the design team through design and construction phases, including submittal review and RFI research
Assist with field observation and site visits as project schedules allow
Participate in project team meetings and internal design reviews
