Civil Engineer - Utility Design
About The Position
Choice One Engineering is seeking a Utility Design Civil Engineer to join its team at the Loveland office. The role involves developing underground utility designs for water, sewer, and stormwater systems and collaborating with clients and other project professionals. The position offers meaningful community-focused work, along with opportunities for professional growth and development. For candidates with 2–5 years of relevant experience, total annual compensation is expected to range from $100,000 to $112,000, including base salary and anticipated profit-sharing bonuses. Exempt employees are also eligible to earn straight-time overtime pay, which may increase total annual compensation above the stated range.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
- 2–10 years of experience in utility design.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivation, a strong sense of urgency, responsiveness, and commitment to meeting deadlines.
- Ability to work onsite in the Loveland, Ohio office.
- A continuous learning mindset and desire for professional growth and development.
Nice To Haves
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or actively pursuing licensure.
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Responsibilities
- Lead plan production for underground utility systems, including water, sewer, and stormwater, using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Interact with clients, including local municipalities, ODOT, contractors, and other consulting companies.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineers to integrate utility designs into overall project plans.
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
- Work with Choice One Engineering technical staff to provide underground utilities design and consulting engineering services.
