Civil Engineer - Utility Design
About The Position
Choice One Engineering is seeking a Utility Design Civil Engineer to join its team in the Loveland office. The role involves designing underground utility systems and collaborating with internal teams and external clients to develop projects that serve communities. The position is onsite in Loveland, Ohio, and offers opportunities for professional growth and development. For candidates with 2–5 years of relevant experience, expected total annual compensation is $100,000–$112,000, including base salary and anticipated profit-sharing bonuses. Exempt employees are also eligible for straight-time overtime pay, which may increase total annual compensation beyond the stated range.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
- 2–10 years of experience in utility design.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated, responsive, and committed to meeting deadlines, with a strong sense of urgency.
- Ability to work onsite in the Loveland, Ohio office.
- Continuous learning mindset and desire for professional growth and development.
Nice To Haves
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or actively pursuing licensure.
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Responsibilities
- Lead plan production for underground water, sewer, and stormwater utility systems using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Interact with clients, including local municipalities, ODOT, contractors, and other consulting companies.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineers to integrate utility designs into overall project plans.
- Prepare engineering reports, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
- Work with Choice One Engineering technical staff to provide underground utility design and consulting engineering services.
