About The Position

Responsible for directing all Sheriff's Office non-emergency incoming phone calls and contact from citizens at the reception counter and performs clerical duties in the Civil Division of the Sheriff’s Office.

Requirements

  • High school or GED certificate
  • Two years’ experience in general office work
  • Typing speed of 50 WPM
  • Extensive experience answering multi-line phones desirable
  • Criminal Justice experience and knowledge of State laws governing civil processes and procedures desirable
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to be certified as LEDS operator
  • Ability to obtain Notary
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
  • Ability to perform mathematical operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Knowledge of Internet software and Word Processing software
  • Regularly required to talk or hear
  • Frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms
  • Occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
